Monty Alxexander's music reveals a child of the bebop era who has reached back to the roots of jazz, absorbed everything from then to now, and fashioned a style that is immediately recognizable as his own. He does it all, from blues to boogie-woogie to Latin, calypso, bop, ballads and straight-ahead jazz, delivering every note with singing clarity and leaving nothing to be desired but more of this wonderful stuff.
