First City Events

I used First City Event's DJ, Jeff for my wedding reception on April 23, 2022 at Garibaldi's restaurant. Jeff was fantastic to work with leading up to our wedding. He was easy-going, flexible, and very professional. We had a phone conversation a few months prior where we were able to work with him to pick out the songs for our wedding reception. Jeff provided his expert opinion which was so helpful in planning our big day.

Throughout our wedding, Jeff did a great job playing music that kept the crowd dancing and having fun all night. The dance floor was never empty or even had a quieter period. He did a great job with announcing all of our wedding party too. His wife Bonnie was our wedding planner. She was also amazing. Bonnie is also easy to work with and has a lot of patience.

A truly gifted wedding planner who deeply loves and enjoys what she does. We all can't say enough great things about both of them! I strongly recommend using them both for your wedding.

I can say enough praise to Bonnie, Victoria and Courtney from First City Events for the phenomenal job they all did for my daughters wedding this past weekend! Best thing we did was to hire them and they made sure things went smoothly! Please hire them for your next event, they are so thorough, professional, kind and patient! Mrs. Bonnie and her team did an amazing job coordinating and planning my wedding. Mrs. Bonnie made this process easy and smooth from start to finish! I truly loved Victoria being with my party the day of the wedding to make sure we were okay and we made it to the wedding on time. I recommend them for all your wedding needs! We can't recommend Bonnie highly enough for wedding planning services! She helped us with our daughter's wedding that was held last weekend on the third date after COVID postponements. Throughout all of the stress and turmoil, Bonnie was an absolute delight keeping us sane and calm. We can't imagine their being any other planner with such attention to detail, organizational skill, or passion for her work.

I would recommend First City Events for Wedding Planning to any bride, especially in the Savannah area. I was living in Chicago while my wedding was in Savannah and Bonnie at FCE was great to work with remotely and was flexible to meet up with my family members in Savannah if they were able to attend something (like tastings) in my place. We also worked with FCE through the pandemic - moving our wedding twice so they practically planned our wedding 3x total and Bonnie was always so calm and flexible through all the date changes. Bonnie helped us select vendors and managed all the communication with them. Bonnie helped manage our budget, as well, which was greatly appreciated.

First City Events also has different tiers of planning packages depending on how much the bridge and groom want to do themselves - this worked great for us as there were some things (like invites / programs) that we could handle so we went with the package just below the Full Service. In summary, hiring First City Events made wedding planning enjoyable and was a great value!

Bonnie is absolutely amazing. She saved me. literally.last minute with the pandemic going on and our previous day of coordinator canceling on us. She was so organized. Her and her team couldn't have done a better job the day of my wedding and the days leading up to it. She was so incredibly kind and I suggest her to anyone getting married.pandemic or not. Bonnie is fantastic to work with! We use First City Events for our annual Hearts for Healing Gala and could not ask for a better event planner. Bonnie has great contacts with all the local vendors and carries a reassuring presence that removes a lot of the potential stress that is often involved in pulling these large events off. She thinks of everything, is very organized and responds quickly when you contact her. We highly recommend First City Events.

First City Events made our wedding day the most smooth, relaxing, & fun day that we had always dreamed of. Bonnie was an absolute joy to work with; balancing her expertise with having a GREAT personality. She handled our wedding party, who can be rather rambunctious, without a hitch. Our parents absolutely loved her & are still doting on her (& her team) to this day.

We also used First City Event's DJ services and were overly pleased with the entire ceremony & reception music! If I could, I would attach videos of how packed the dance floor was the whole evening. Let's run it back once more, FCE! I would recommend you all 100 times over.

My wedding was a destination wedding so I had to do everything over email or phone calls. Bonnie was awesome with replying back and texting. The vendors I chose had worked with her before and they raved about her! She did a great job creating the timeline and contacting the vendors to make sure everything will go well

This anecdote will say it all -- the DJ at our wedding was so good and the dance floor was so fun that we came in under our bar minimum, and that's with a quarter of the guests coming from Ireland, so that's saying something! Jeff and Bonnie are awesome! We had called around to a few DJs about our wedding in June and we realized right away we wanted to go with First City Events because they actually took a genuine interest in our wedding instead of sounding like what must be the truth -- "oh boy, another wedding!" Before the wedding we sent in some songs that we wanted to hear, and while that's not too hard to get right, they picked other songs in line with what we liked and our guests had a brilliant time dancing the night away. Also, what a great price to create such a memorable evening. Thank you Jeff and Bonnie!

Jeff kaar is a rap wanna be, his sense of timing and fake fake hip sensibilities are quite lame. I wish I would not have hired this hack to ruin my wedding, beware! He will ruin your night.

Bonnie and her team were a dream come true! I had this image in my head of what my wedding would look like and they made it even better! I have heard that something almost always goes wrong at your wedding, but with them around everything went perfectly smooth! On top of that, they catered to mine and my husband's needs all night so that we could literally not have a care in the world! Even my guests were commenting on how amazing my planner was! I honestly don't think anyone could find a better, more capable, fun planner than First City Events!

We hired First City Events (Specifically Jeff) to DJ our wedding reception. Jeff was professional and played mostly what was asked but we're not super thrilled with a few things. - We did not want a entrance song. We felt that it didn't fit us as a couple and we didn't want it to be cheesy so we asked for just a background beat and an MC intro.

What we got was probably the song that I would answer if you asked what my least favorite entrance song would be. He played "Tonight's gonna be a good night" by Black Eyed Peas which I hate! - He barely said a word! He did not really MC anything, he did not make much attempt to get anyone on the dance floor and he didn't even pump up the crowd for the bouquet toss. - Email responsiveness was sometimes slow.

I had to ask twice for a final invoice. Overall, it was a DJ and he played music for dinner and the reception and it was ok but we were not impressed. We payed an extra $100 to get Jeff and I don't feel we got any additional value out of this. A few of our family members complained to us at the end of the night that he was boring. So if you want someone professional and not cheesy to DJ your event, this would be an ok choice but if you really want a lively party, I'd probably look at some other options.

We completely lucked out by finding DJ Jeff and Bonnie from First City Events! We planned our Savannah, GA wedding from California and only had online reviews to rely on. DJ Jeff totally MADE our wedding! We aren't big dancers so told Jeff we wanted more of a "cocktail atmosphere". We provided him with a short list of artists we liked and told him to take it from there.

Not once did we hear a song we didn't like AND he got all the guests on the dance floor - including US! He made our wedding into a real party and we all had a spectacular time because of him. Book DJ Jeff immediately - you won't be disappointed! And while you're booking DJ Jeff, book Bonnie as your coordinator! In the middle of our wedding planning, it got a bit nuts (as weddings do!) and I emailed Bonnie to see if she could join us for a vendor meeting that we were flying into town for - in two days!

She responded very fast and said of course. The meeting went great and we booked her as a "Day of Coordinator". Boy is she more than "Day of"! Bonnie went above and beyond to help out with anything possible - I ended up contacting her for help finding local vendors, restaurant suggestions, salons, etc. Starting about 3 weeks before the wedding she took all my vendors' info and became the main contact - huge weight off my shoulders and saved me hours!

At our rehearsal I am certain I threw 25 new things at her that I wanted and at our wedding reception everything was exactly as I had asked! Also important - she kept the evening right on schedule. Because of her, our wedding went absolutely perfectly and I had nothing to stress about! It was all about my new husband and I celebrating with our friends. I encourage ALL brides to hire Bonnie (and Jeff!) so you can have a stress-free, perfect wedding!
