Just discovered this beautiful flamenco guitarist and composer by chance yesterday. Loved his "Mariposa" flamenco video, and searched for more compositions and video recordings by Berto Boyd. Boyd's "A Mi Padre" allowed me to finally get out of myself today. Much needed musical therapy! Duende!

Purchased a tablature notated piece of Flamenco guitar from Berto. I was having a few issue getting to grips with it and contacted Berto via the comments on YouTube and he couldn't have been more helpful to put me on the right track. Highly recommended

Berto is a great teacher. I went to him to learn more about flamenco jazz theory for composition. I enjoyed analyzing his compositions and learned alot analying his compositions.

I have seen Berto play under so many different performance environments. Up-close, small settings, full flamenco band with dancers, classical music stage, and more and I can say it's been a top musical experience every time for me. A true delight. I've become a devotee to this swell guy. From ripping big sound to moments where I could hear the blood rushing in my ears. Tears of beauty and joy - Berto brings it in close. I studied with Berto fo a time several years ago & was really impressed at first with the fact that he liked Picasso & showed me a photo of a young Manitas de Plata & went on as I realized how patient he is; I was pretty old at the time & my eyesight (with or without glasses) wasn't good. What he gave me was really practical & useful instruction but also a feeling that I could learn this music that I had loved since the mid 60's but had never played.

I started handicapped with a right had that grew up on Mississippi John Hurt style picking & the thumb that went with it. He showed me a lot of guitar stuff but also a wonderful attitude that I think he brings to his music, along with an honesty about flamenco & how he feels about it.

As an amateur guitarist, just speaking with Berto and being able to ask him questions and share my music with him has been invaluable. His feedback is great and I hope to see him live someday. His music videos on YouTube will have to do, for now. Highly recommend working with him!

I had the honor of performing with Berto Boyd for a Salem Philharmonia Orchestra concert. His passion for music shines through his performances. If you ever have a chance to hear him play, do it.

I've been playing flamenco for about 8 years and for awhile I've hit plateaus. When I started having private lessons with Berto, I can confidently say that within a month, I see improvements in my playing! Not only Berto is a great flamenco guitar teacher, but also great at teaching other fields including classical techniques, songwriting, music theory, etc. Highly recommend him if you're looking to improve your guitar playing
