Sharkey's Cuts For Kids

Drayton had his very first haircut at Sharkey's beginning of May. He was moving his head all over the place but the Woman cutting his hair was very patient. She obviously knows all the tricks to be doing this everyday. She was fast, kind, and did a great job on his cut. He got a sucker after. I paid for the package with the certificate, lock of hair, and picture taken at the end. Will definitely be coming back for another cut soon!

Took my son here for his very first professional haircut. I loved that they have the cool car seats the kids can choose from and screens in front for favorite shows to distract them. Ashley was amazingly patient and such a trooper, my kid fought tooth and nail to keep the clippers and scissors away from his head, like 10/10 meltdown but somehow she managed to finish his super cute cut, he got a balloon and all was well. THANK YOU SO MUCH SHARKEY'S, so sorry for the chaos

I took my 18 months old daughter to get her first hair trim/ cut. The staff were super nice, the place was clean and my baby's hair looked awesome. They try their best to give the kids the best experience. Would definitely go back!

This was my 1 year old sons 2nd haircut ever. He had his first haircut with a family member which you can't go wrong with. Setting up an appointment only was a breeze. Upon walking in there were 2 distinct seating areas: 1 area with comfy gaming type chairs that allow kids to play Xbox and the other area had 3 kids play cars turned into hair styling chairs.

Extra thumbs up for the Bat mobile that we had our son sit in! There were a total of 3 employees working around the time we went in which was at opening. Our stylist was Nuria and she was very comforting and nurturing to our son who was overwhelmed and not feeling the buzzer part of his haircut. She also worked fast but not in a rushed way, just in a way that you knew she wanted to make sure little ones don't feel like they have to sit forever and ever in the chair.

The other 2 employees were just as friendly and accommodating as well. They also have tvs with all sorts of apps to stream for your littles which makes a HUGE difference in how they sit still. Very happy with our experience and will definitely be back.

I was scared to take my girls to get their haircut at a kid's salon because I have seen some chop jobs, but Deena and Nuria were terrific. I thought my older daughter would want to play video games, but she wanted a car in the pink room like her sister. Deena pulled a Barbie car to the salon station so she could have a car like her sister, who had the Frozen car.

They asked me multiple times if the length they were cutting was okay and Nuria was great with my little ones curly hair. Deena was great with my older daughters very thick hair and helped us take photos after the cut! They were both very sweet while polishing their nails and letting them pick their rings. The man at the front desk was also very funny and sweet with girls. We will be back!

Took my daughter to get her first haircut at 2.5 years old. it was the best experience ever. Nuria was so good and she made my daughter feel so special. We were early to our appointment and waited in the front so my daughter felt comfortable being there, the front desk gentleman and Nuria were very attentive and welcoming to us. I couldn't recommend this place enough. SEE NURIA! She is awesome! My daughter now won't stop asking to go back. Thank you Sharkey's

We came as a walk-in and the staff was very accommodating. Our sons hair cut was spot on. Pricey but what isn't these days on the UES. We will definitely come back.

Absolutely horrible, they have the worst attitude, we came 9 min late and they refused the service because it was past their 7 min policy. Like seriously we paid the whole year in advance and it was a big deal over 2 min, that's ridiculous. The hair dresser wasn't even ready she took 5 min to just come out and she was this Asian hairdresser with the worst attitude. It was obvious she didn't want to cut his hair. Save your money, find true professionals!

Horrible service, first they tried to act like they did me a favor scheduling an appt after hours, I didn't mind going elsewhere to begin with if they were unable to accommodate a walk in. So the fact that they wanted to rush the hair cut to go home is ridiculous. Then once they were done they charged $30 for basically no haircut! My child's hair looks exactly the same! Unless your kid is a statue they can not handle cutting kids hair, zero patience as well as zero customer service. Go elsewhere and save your money.

Quality haircut for kids Every time no matter who. They take great care of making sure the kids are comfortable and the parents happy with the cuts.

I was a bit nervous to have my sons hair to be cut for the first time. He has super curly hair (tight curls) and I was afraid that his curls would go away by someone that doesn't know how to cut curly hair. I talked to the owner of Sharkey's if she had anyone that is experience with curly hair. She recommended Lisa to cut my sons hair. Let me just tell you.

She was beyond AMAZING! She cut my sons hair so perfect and his curls remained curly! My husband and I couldn't have had a greater experience with her. Our son did so good and allowed her to cut his hair while watching Toy Story! We HIGHLY recommend Lisa with anyone. especially if your kids have curly hair! We will definitely be coming back to see Lisa! =

I have a one year old & I usually take him to Cookie Cutters in Fullerton, but decided to check this place out since its closer to me. As soon as I got there the receptionist was not friendly or welcoming, she seemed mad. An Asian lady (didn't get her name) began to cut my sons hair & she was not being gentle. My son started crying & she just kept going.

She would grab my sons head for him not to move. She didn't have no patience, idk why she works with kids. She ended up messing my sons hair. Lisa approached us & she was really friendly & tried to calm my baby. I ended up telling her if she could cut his hair. She tried to fix his hair, but by that time my son wasn't having it anymore. I was so mad I wanted to cry, now my son is going to be traumatized & im scared he won't like getting haircuts anymore. Should have never came here. Ive never had this problem when I go to Cookie Cutters, my son always enjoys it. NEVER coming here again.

Been here over the years a handful of times. Went again today with both girls this time. My 3 year old had her first hair cut (trim). They ladies were kind. Lee washed her hair and got her set up in the Frozen Jeep with Netflix. My oldest played XBOX (for the first time) and her hair dresser kept helping her with the controller when she meeded it which was nice.

The package includes wash, cut, hair style (braid), a bow, nails painted and a ring. They also get a lollipop and a sticker on the way out. They used to have balloons (on a stick) to take home but this time they didn't. Not sure if that has been discontinued. It was $34.95 for each kid. A bit pricy but the visit includes a lot and the kids had fun.

Great experience We got to pick the Lightning McQueen chair. And she got pink everything else: Pink bow. Pink balloon. Pink nail polish. Pink lollipop. Pink Minnie mouse sticker. On top of all that, her haircut was very precise.

Disappointing both times. Unprofessional. I'm not a hairdresser but I can do a better job cutting kids hair. We tried this place twice and both times (2 different hairdressers) didn't wet child's full set of hair, and the haircut was uneven with what looked like holes. Stay away

Very disappointed! Took my son here for the experience, since they have the little cars to sit on while they get a hair cut, they give a ballon and lollipops and a little surprise for them. But the lady who cut his hair didn't even turn the tv on she told him about a little surprise but didn't give it to him he had to ask for it. Every kid that walks through the door should receive the same experience each and every time. that's the point of taking them to Sharkeys.

Called here to make an appointment and I mentioned one that I've gone to other places and I'm not satisfied cause it looked like they just chopped his hair off and also that my two year old cries and I didn't even say he screams or moves around, just said he cries, and the lady says that if the stylist sees my son crying they won't continue to cut his hair and he'll leave with a choppy haircut. I just said nvm and hung up. That was a very wrong response.

ZERO STARS if I could. Called ahead of time to give them the courtesy that I was running late due to traffic and closing up my 1st grade classroom. They said they have a "7 minute policy" which is ridiculous considering this is a kids hair cut salon, not John Frieda. I waited for 2 minutes while the receptionist was on the phone and states " sorry you arrived at 4:08, we will have to reschedule." SERIOUSLY?!?! It's no wonder there was no one in the salon to begin with. DO NOT GO HERE. I'm a working mom, I try hard and do my best. It's difficult when you have to deal with businesses like this that don't put customers first.

The kids hair cuts were great. But absolutely no one (except the stylists that worked on my kids) were wearing masks. Everyone had masks on their chins. It also got very crowded so they are not doing appropriate spacing of clients. They didnt wipe down the cars between children. That should be done even before covid because -- kids. It felt uncomfortable and I don't think we'll be coming back.

I don't even know where to start with this review. On Sunday September 12th I went here to get my sons hair cut before school started. I made an appointment for 2pm got there at 2 for them to tell me they were 20 mins behind schedule ok fine i waited outside because it was so crowded inside. I came back in 20 mins later for them to say they still were not ready.

I scheduled a cut, wash and style. They sat my son right after someone else they did not clean or wash down the car that my son sat in. When he got up he was COVERED in hair that wasn't his! GROSS ! He got his hair washed and after I had to blow dry his him because nobody did it and I didn't want him to go outside with wet hair. After blow drying it I seen my sons hair cut was all messed up I was so annoyed already with everything else I went home and fixed it myself. Nobody took Covid precautions nobody was wearing a mask fast forward to September 15th, my family and I are positive for Covid we have gone nowhere else beside this place.

Sharkey's has been our go to since our little guy's first cut in November. We love all their stylists but today Faustina really went above and beyond! We had very specific requests, our little dude has a crazy cowlick and a prominent forehead so we asked for a little boy cut, longer in the front. He was a little cranky but she got YouTube on the screen and had such a soothing manner with him, he was all smiles the whole time! We'll definitely book our new favorite stylist next time we make an appointment, thank you Faustina!

Took my little boy here. Absolutely loved it. Everyone was incredibly nice, and the stylist (Faustina) did a fantastic job. She was very patient, even when my son was wiggling around. Lol We bought the first haircut package ($35). She did a cut, shampoo, style, along with a first haircut certificate that had a lock of my sons hair and a first haircut photo attached (which is absolutely adorable!).

Very thoughtful. They definitely understand how sentimental the first haircut is. Definitely would recommend this place, and I'm definitely going to take him there next time! :)

What an amazing experience! First time mom to an almost 2 year old. I only trimmed the front of his hair during the pandemic and I will never again do that lol. My son's hair was very long, you could make a ponytail out of it. I was very concerned about the way my son would react to a first time hair cut and how the stylist would treat him. I made the best choice possible and went to Sharkey's Cuts for Kids in Tustin and Faustina was our stylist, She was so kind and sympathetic towards my son.

Once he realized he was getting a lollipop he sat down and watched CoCo Mellon which they turned on for him. Faustina was very efficient and gentle. The way she spoke to my son is the way I want the atmosphere to be in my house, very loving. Thank you to the salon and Faustina for making this a stress free process. We selected the keepsake package, comes with a photo, certificate and lock of hair only 30ish dollars. They also offer balloons, lollipops and stickers everyday. I'll definitely be back.

One Star Rating is too much, btw. My wife was late for five minutes. Ask for grace period if you make an appointment. They're pretty snotty. And they are pricey. Poor customer service. Go elsewhere.

I've taking my son to Sharkey's in Irvine. However, I decided to book an appointment in Tustin. Had a terrible experience there, the hairstylist Asia is her name. Was really rough and rude. He used the clippers on my son and hurt him. She shouldn't be working with kids if she hates it. Do not schedule any appointments with her. Terrible.

Covid19 update review. So only one parent inside for haircut. They are supposed to check your temperature and if you have on a face covering. We got a haircut with Asia. She was really patient and sweet with our boy. The receptionist was friendly. They took out some of the cars (chairs) to help with social distancing.

We've been to Sharkey's three times now and will not be going back. My daughter told me today that the woman cutting her hair made her feel uncomfortable because she rushed so much and hurt her head. She's had her one other time but only today told me she wished she wouldn't cut her hair. We are always rushed in and out and most annoyingly, we are charged the full amount for a girls haircut even though they didn't wash her hair or fix it.

To top it off, her latest haircut was a bad haircut and I may have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. I would recommend trying somewhere else for a girls haircut.money is not well spent here.

Accommodated a walk-in at 11:30 on a Sunday for our 2 year old daughter's first haircut. Our stylist, Gina, was kind and patient and gave us good advice about our daughter's hair, in addition to giving her a pretty adorable cut. She also got a quick, free manicure and to choose a very small toy. And Sharkey's saved a lock of hair and gave us a "first haircut" certificate. Total experience was quick (20m or so), fun and trauma-free.

I have Never experienced what I have today. My son who will be turning 7 next Tuesday / I went into the city just so my son can finally get a hair cut at Sharkeys. Instead when my son saw the sign @72 Street he felt disappointed, so we took a walk over to the supposed to be new location and we saw that it is under construction. I have sent out a message / absolutely no one has taken the time to answer.

I won't be made a fool of once again Sharkey's. The receptionist there gladly asked for my Email but not even taken the time to send me the invite or new location address. I was really relying on Sharkey's and continuing with my sons' stylist. Thank you Sharkey's.

Elsa, Rene and Jen were amazing and so patient with my 2 year old daughter! Elsa styled her hair to perfection. Jen washed her hair and had great manner. Rene was super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend! My daughter did not want to leave this fun atmosphere!
