Awesome old-school curiosity shop. Great collection. Also a good place for magicians young and old to shop as there is a wide array of over the counter illusions, as well as more sophisticated for the more seasoned magicians

An incredible shop. If you are in downtown Lombard it is something you must see. They have things there that I have NEVER seen before. Also, they have amazing private magic shows for children and adults. We had a fantastic birthday party thanks to them!

My fiance and I drove an hour out to the shop after discovering it on tiktok the night before. Absolutely worth the visit! I can't wait to go back again! Bob was knowledgeable, funny, and very kind. They had beautiful specimens, crystals, jewelry, ect. And I'll be going back when I have more money to spend :

Great little store, lots of curiosities. Bob was great and even showed us some magic. We even brought some if it back home! 100% worth a visit.

Amazing shop! Their window displays drew me in! Bob was super funny and made the experience unforgettable! Cracking jokes about my pet rat and telling me about his own animals really makes the experience more personal. Definitely will be returning every large paycheck!

Drove from indiana to see this place and it absolutely didn't disappoint. this shop was stunning, i walked in circles over and over again and still found more to look at. if you're in the area, or even if you're not, this shop is a must see bob was so incredibly kind and had such an amazing selection of specimens, jewelry, crystals, etc. we will definitely be visiting again :

Such an amazing little shop! Bob has incredible showmanship and makes every visit feel like you're in a wonderful little show. Its interactive, fun and whimsical. The products are high quality and fairly priced. Love this store.

The shop is AMAZING! So much to see in one place. Bob is funny, patient, and a great story teller. My kids loved the shop and keep asking to go back. A must see if you're in the area.

Bob is so wonderful! This place is also a mini museum with many wonders from around the world. Bob helped our first time magician pick out many new tricks and demonstrated several for us. He also does private shows and would be a great addition to any party!

I've been walking by this place thinking "gee, that looks interesting." If you have too, yes, it is, so go on in. In addition to the magic items (including a mini-museum / meeting room in back, featuring beautiful restored magic show posters in multiple languages), there are plenty of items here for those with a Goth, witchy or rockhound bent. I'm not big on animal skeletons or skulls (though if you want a stuffed plush kangaroo with a real skull popping out of the face, he's got it), but I do like rocks and he's got some lovely ones - small to medium affordable spheres in various minerals, including some nice chakra sets; little carved animals; hearts, worry stones, marble-sized pendants, etc. He's also got a nice selection of runestone sets and tarot cards, plus a selection of Ouija boards and some little blue evil eye bracelets.

The owner is personable and is happy to talk about his stock; I can see how he'd be great with crowds when he puts on his magician hat. The medical oddities were interesting (old patent medicine bottles; sets of what I assume were fake teeth?, x-rays). And if I ever need to buy a tranparent skull filled with what appear to be pickled embryonic rats, I know where to go.

Bobby is a one of a kind soul. He took the time to show my wife and I around the shop and we talked for over an hour about not only his collection but life interest. He takes a great deal of pride in his collection, as he should, he has amassed quit the collection of what you can only describe as fascinating art. I will be back soon and I will come more financially prepared because I have to take home at least one of his beautiful taxidermy bats.

I didn't know what to expect when I walked in the door. and I was blown-away! The place was well lit with a number of museum quality displays. The magic counter is well stocked with items for the beginner. There's a little bit of something for everyone including gems and crystals. If you are anywhere near downtown Lombard, you should pop your head inside!

I love this store and more than that the owner Bob is one of the nicest men on earth. He shows you all his collection and explains the stories behind some amazing pieces in his store. This place is a one of a kind! Must see!

To find a store of this caliber you need a time machine! It's the type of place you can hang out and just look at stuff. They have a great selection that is priced right and the owner is a great guy! He goes the extra mile to show you how to perform the tricks, he is a highly skilled magician and entertainer and also offers small performances and parties. I plan on doing a client event at his shop soon. This is the type of place you want to support, his store is a rare gem!

I was told he once traded a monkey-skull for a water buffalo head. They have a large selection of medical supplies as well.

All I can say is I came here once upon a time when I was trying to learn the craft of magic. The gentlemen working there were no help & very ignorant. I haven't been back since. They acted as if I was a bother just because I needed help around the store. Terrible customer service. This is not even a real magic shop. Don't waste your time just to be treated like garbage. I felt so awkward & uncomfortable. Never again.

This shop is amazing! Mr. James is so helpful and great with my 9Y0 son. We have gone to the store many times over the last 1 1/2 years. Before that my son was wasting money on tricks from Amazon. They were either too difficult and/or would break right away (or not work in the first place). We travel from Naperville just to go. We also hit Lizzadro when we're in town. It makes for a great day!

Just came home from my 7 year olds birthday party. The 14 girls loved the show and the goodie bags - they could not wait to get home to show their families the magic tricks they just learned. When they say they do it all, they literally do it all, even walking the gifts to my car! I went to clean a plate from the table and I was told that they would handle it as that is why they are there.

I literally did nothing but watch the show! Extra bonus is that they shut the business down so there is no one in the store except us- we received their full attention! Highly recommend it! They have it perfectly planned! My girls are still talking about 'Alex' and 'Seymour'! The stars of the show!

Took my boys here on Saturday & the young man working Erik was so helpful & informative. We will definitely be back!

Bob James is quite the magician and performer - Have known him for years here in Elmhurst, Illinois - He's a performer from the old school of magic - Can easily adapt to the audience. Have seen him in front of a huge grove of kids making them all smile and be mystified, as well as late in the evening where his sophisticated saucer y for adults comes out to shine.

Ask to see George or Alex, as both are truly part of the act/show - Even Seymour, the rabbit is worth seeing as he gets pulled out of some strange places. Bob James used to have a Magic Shop as a retail store here in Elmhurst - He gave that up a few years back but is definitely available for a party or corporate event. I'd have no problem highly recommending his service/work. Plus he can make you disappear, just ask!
