My wife and I used Astro for our wedding planning and to provide a DJ. Shaw was our wedding planner and Danny was our DJ. Both very fun and easy going but professional at the same time. Shaw had great communication skills during our 18 months of planning and our wedding day went very well. A great company to work with if you're planning a wedding or big event

I love ASTRO, and cannot recommend them enough. Our DJ, Cory, was amazing and did a fantastic job reading the room and playing songs that fit. Everyone complimented the music and had a fantastic time!

We hired Freddy with a Y to DJ our wedding at the Historic Post Office. I had planned some secret things to surprise my wife with which effected when the music needed to be played in order to queue events at the right time. Freddy showed up to the venue early, double checked everything with me and was able to time it all out perfectly. He played music that kept the dance floor rolling all night long. 10/10 would hire again.

Roger was the best DJ we could've hoped for! He went above and beyond to make sure he had all the details of the day ahead of time and reassured us it would go off without a hitch. He was so right! He kept the party going all night long at our reception and read the room perfectly if a song wasn't working with the crowd he moved to the next one. Everyone said 'we needed a bigger dance floor and that's not a bad problem to have' which was very true because of Roger.

Thank you so much! It made our whole entire wedding to have such an amazing DJ. We also rented 2 customized champagne walls that Astro built for our wedding and I appreciate they did that for us. If they don't have something you want they will make it. We also had up lighting and a gobo that we could customize. Lastly, we rented the 360 video and that was such a hit with our guests!

The only complaint I had about this was the Astro staff member working this didn't tell a majority of our guests they had to put their phone number in in order to get the link to their video. So I ended up having to send everyone their videos a month later and at that point most guests have moved on from it. Having it instantly should've been told to all guests.

Also the video would've been better with some kind of background music added. We have been to weddings with these 360 videos before and they all had background music once the video was sent to you and the link was opened. It just makes the video more interesting instead of people dancing on video to nothing. If this was an option it wasn't told to us and I wish it had been.

Astro provided partial wedding planning, rentals, and a DJ for our Covid-redo wedding. We booked them for an initial wedding in 2021, and rescheduled due to Covid for a year later (without issue). Fast forward to 2022 and the MORNING OF OUR WEDDING the venue cancelled on us because of bad weather (indoor venue). Pari and the events team were not only able to secure another venue to accommodate 120+ guests, but also reroute everyone to a location, and secure shuttles for everyone to and from our new venue.

They organized all of our vendors, decorated the entire venue, and ensured everything went off without a hitch--all in a few hours. I can genuinely look back on our wedding day and say it was perfect, and Astro played an immeasurable role in that. Almost all of our attendees said it felt like this was the plan all along. As the bride who had a (very much unplanned) venue change day-of---I can honestly say after a couple phone calls with Pari, my biggest concern was being able to adequately express our thanks to this team!

Aside from the quick-change plans, Rodney the DJ had everyone dancing the entire night. The feedback we've heard the most from friends and family is how great the music was. I can't recommend them enough.

Can not recommend DJ Richard enough! He absolutely killed it at our wedding and kept the dance floor crowder all night. Everyone with Astro was super easy and helpful to work with and accommodated all of our requests so well. Definitely book Richard for your event- you won't regret it!

From my first phone call with them up until my Birthday Party everyone was was so helpful and amazing. I had the best experience with my Disc Jokey Jarrell Roberson from our phone call to my party. Jarrell definitely came in and showed out we had the best time with him epic Soul Train Line and dance battles he was on it. Jarrell thank you so much for making my bday one to remember. Keep that amazing energy! I will definitely be recommending Astro Entertainment and my Favorite Disc Jockey Jarrell Roberson!

Our DJ from Astro DJ was good at playing songs that catered to our older guests and we appreciate that. I really want to give more stars, but our DJ used too much of our contracted time for breakdown of the equipment. We were contracted until 11:15 PM, and he stopped the music at around 10:24 PM saying that he needed the time to take down the up-lighting and sparkular lights.

Why would we pay extra for those services just to have time taken away from the music? We could have easily gotten those services from another vendor. The option to extend the music was not given, and we had our venue secured until midnight. It's a big day for the bride and groom with a lot of pressure, and we tried our best to keep the positive energy. And we were already too overwhelmed to argue with the DJ. Other than that, our DJ from Astro Entertainment was a fun MC and the music was good overall.

If i could give more stars i would. DJ Roger was absolutely hands down the best. He played everything we asked him to play and I personally requested some songs and without skipping a beat he played them. I would recommend Roger to anyone that asks me about a DJ. We had an awesome time and deff threw it down on the dance floor.

If you are looking for Day fo the Wedding Planning or gosh Wedding Planner. Sara is the one she went over the top to make sure that the day of my Wedding, all I had to do was show up. Sara listen to what I was looking for from the first moment we talked. Anytime a curve was thrown Sara caught it fixed like it never happened. Sara and Pari came thru with all the decorating all I did was provide the vision the totes and they ran with it.

Thank you Sara for making sure that mine and Clyde's day went as smooth as butter. Also our DJ Rodney did a fabulous job delivered exactly what we wanted. Astro was so great to work with for my wedding! I hired Astro for month-of coordination (including day-of coordinator and set up), DJ, cafe lights, wireless uplighting, and visual package. Sara Sanders was my main point of contact and my coordinator and she was phenomenal. Sara ensured my wedding went off without a hitch. She was communicative and professional. Greg Chappell was our DJ and Greg was so so great. Greg kept the crowd dancing all night and his music selection was perfect. I'd highly recommend Sara and Greg for any weddings and the company as a whole for any type of event.

Astro DJ Cory Chapman absolutely nailed our wedding- I would recommend Cory to anyone planning their wedding now! He is responsive and will coordinate with you before the big day, easily sharing spotify playlists, from which he gets a great feel for your music style. My husband, Zach, and I had the pleasure of working with DJ Danny Gray for our wedding and he was nothing short of perfect - extremely professional, easy to communicate with, and the best MC I've seen at any wedding I've ever been to. Zach and I got married in Stafford, Virginia, and Danny was the only vendor we brought in from out of town. He was more than willing to travel and handled the timeline of the reception beautifully. We are constantly recommending him to anyone inquiring about a DJ and will continue to do so!

You will not make a mistake in hiring Valente from Astro as your wedding DJ! My husband is a big music guy and Valente totally catered to his music selections and let him be involved! He got everyone on the dance floor for the reception! We wanted a very short first dance - we hate attention -- and Valente promised to keep it short and cut it early.

He was wonderful. Then after the daddy daughter dance, he did a wonderful really special dance that brought all the couples out to the floor- even people I didn't expect! It was all his doing! Valente included hilarious sound effects in my dad's never-ending speech to spice it up. He had everyone dancing all night! A big old dance circle of all ages!

Some priceless dance videos of my guests. Valente was one of the highlights of the evening with people asking me for his info after the wedding or telling us how amazing our DJ was. On top of it, he is just a wonderfully nice person! Thank you Valente and Astro!

We had the most amazing night during our wedding. Sara was our wedding coordinator and she was absolutely phenomenal, detail oriented, and very organized. Astro provided A1 service! Astro was our one stop shop for the wedding planning, the beautiful lighting, the photo booth, and our DJ, Danny Gray! I've had so many people tell us that our wedding was the best wedding they've ever been too (including my husband and I). I will forever remember that night. THANK YOU ASTRO!

Mike from Astro did our wedding on May 8th at Cahoon Plantation in Chesapeake! He did an awesome job and kept the music playing all night! Make sure if he DJs your party or event you ask him to sing! The dude sounds just like Frank Sinatra! Larry did the streaming of the ceremony and did a great job as well! I highly recommend Astro for all of your events!

Update- 2 months later and still waiting for the partial refund they promised us. Had to cancel due to covid-19. Vendor told us we could only get 1/3 of our money back.

I loved working with Astro Entertainment on November 9th, 2019 for Stan and Katherine's wedding! Working with Astro Entertainment is always a treat - On the wedding day, the DJ kept the busy day on schedule and made the celebration of my clients' special day such a blast!

Astro provided the wedding coordinator (Shaw), the dj as well as the lighting and projections for my wedding at the Chrysler museum in December. The coordinator Shaw was incredible, as an overly hetero guy if someone told me they were a wedding coordinator in the past I probably would have giggled to myself like "hehe get a real job". After the fact.

I get it, they do a ton, Shaw was nothing short of the mvp of the whole day. This review gets 5 stars from her alone. I'm not exactly sure how but my wife got some really good package deal from Astro involving everything else. The lighting and dj were great and we got a photo booth as well at a very fair price. All said and done I'm an extremely pleased with the services provided based on the money spent. Anyone wondering if they should acquire the services if Astro in the future.that is a firm yes coming from me.

Hands down, I would hire them again and again, but happy to only marry one! I hired Pari for full wedding planning and a dj service for ceremony only. I'm Virginia's #1 Wedding pastor. I've performed over 5000 weddings and could have worked my own wedding just fine. But knowing the entire industry, I wanted to work with someone that I've worked with more times than I can count but also who knows just as many people as I do.

When I first started planning, I needed to remain anonymous so having that wedding influencer coordinate for me meant that I could gain the same top industry standards that one would offer to me directly. But more than influence and connection, Pari and her team and I have worked with intimately over the years in the wedding world. They are professional, coordinated, organized, detailed oriented, and a "get it done" + "I got it" + "don't worry" vibe that I also needed and desired.

The last reason, I hired my friend, a professional friend, but still my friend. All of my vendors were dear friends who I know also loved me. You see, I'm a man, and married the man of my dreams, my husband. I had not come out just yet, and this hiring was super personal for me. Not only was I joining my partner for life, but I needed a team that supports me whole heartedly and were like my family, even my "wedding industry family." I found all that with Pari and her team.

My family didn't participate. not many pastors who are gay have family that would support that kind of decision, but Pari, she was my constant, my rock, my support, my guide through the entire process. Thats what meant the world to me the most. Can you imagine "handling" a virginia's most wedded wedding pastor who's used to running the wedding ceremony?

I have to give it to her, my personality is louder than any bridezilla, though, as a pro, never happened. Pari did it with such ease and professionalism. There was a part in my rehearsal that I "let go" of things. Pari gently placed both hands on my shoulders and looked me straight in the eyes and said, "Cory. do you trust me." I'll be honest, there was a long pause, but the reality is that I did.

I said yes, I trust you. That transfer of power was needed for me and she used her professional authority in such a way to ease even me and to place me in position where she needed me to transfer that moment to her. I smile when I think about it, but I realized after that moment, I was able to relax and drink and enjoy the moments of my wedding. My wedding day came, finally, it was my turn. Pari and the team arrived on time, sorted everything.

I had nothing to do but be present and thats something that I can never be more thankful for Pari. They kept our timeline on point and made changes quickly when I asked. They packed things up and coordinated with my designees. My wedding was perfect and exactly what I wanted. Most importantly, my wedding was executed professional and just as I envisioned.

She captured my picture and performed perfectly. There isn't, truly, any negative thing I can think of, not even a lil bit of that or some more of that. Finally, just one last thought. As my partner and I were sharing these moments in the ceremony, I scanned the logical family chosen to be there, including my vendor team. There wasn't a dry eye present, including Pari's eyes.

The love I share for her and our friendship will be forever present. Hire this team. You won't regret it. And yes, you really do need a planner! Thank you Pari and Sara, from the deepest part of Justin's and my heart. Much love, always! Justin and Cory!

DJ Danny did an outstanding job at our wedding. When we decided to book with Astro, they asked which DJ we wanted. To help us decide, we looked through the reviews and Danny's name was coming up everywhere. Now we know why - he was phenomenal! The month leading up to our wedding, I had a meeting with Danny to discuss everything we wanted. The week of, he called me to confirm everything was right, and to ask a few additional questions to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted.

Day of, everything was perfect. Danny would check in with us every so often throughout the event to make sure we were having a good time, and to ask if there was anything particular we wanted played. At one point, I asked if he could put on a few slow songs before the older guests left, and he immediately ran back and did just that. He had everyone on the dance floor the whole night.

He played all different types of music, so every guest heard things they liked. Even my 90 year old grandmother said she enjoyed it! Since the wedding, everyone has been telling us how great the music was. Danny was incredible! We had so much fun dancing the night away. I would highly recommend booking Astro, and specifically DJ Danny, for any event!

Only 5 stars were available for this review, I'd have given them 100 if I could. When my daughter told me she wanted to use Astro Entertainment out of Virginia Beach, VA for a wedding in Beaufort, NC because she knew Danny's work from her job at a VA Beach hotel I was skeptical. As her mom, I was worried about so many things, I didn't want her disappointed.

He wouldn't know the venue, he was at a distance and working with the other vendors would be challenging, what if something happened as he was trying to get here, 3-1/2 hours away, on and on. So much could have gone wrong. Now I know why she insisted. She was SO right. Danny was AMAZING. So many people said during the evening and after, "Where did she find him? He's Amazing." The best evening of music and dancing ever. Thanks Astro, and especially, Danny.

Let me start off by saying I've hired Astro Entertainment over 5 times probably in the past 8-9 years. I've had Jay as our DJ three times and he was great! He played the perfect type of music after doing his research on the demographics of our parties. He also engaged with the party which in turn made for a wonderful time. I'm not sure how much we spent, but the price was pretty reasonable.

Fast forward several years. we hired Astro to do a Christmas party for a local restaurant at the Chesapeake Golf Club. We had Raphael. He was hired from 5-8pm on a Thursday night, 12-21. He was horrible. He played ok music for the occasion. He did NOT engage with the party. He probably spoke 2 sentences the whole time. My brother in law is in a local Motown band and actually had to finish his job.

He did start a game of musical chairs and during this he played awesome music, then when he finished, he went back to boring 80's music. He was absolutely horrible. There was no smile on his face the entire time he was up there. I'm thinking something horrible went on with him that day for him to be so sullen and unprofessional. So I'm giving Astro 4 stars because of my past experience with them. If I were to review them from their job last week. it would be 1 star. So. DO NOT hire Raphael.

We just got married on 11/3 and Rodney was our DJ for the evening. We have nothing but fantastic things to say about him! We had a last minute change and Rodney contacted me with all of his necessary information to get on the military base where our wedding was held and then called me to confirm some details. He was personable and professional, and boy, does he know how to read a room!

We were supposed to go into our father/daughter mother/son dances right after dinner but had some folks on the dance floor so he kept going until I caught up with him. We bumped the dances back to just before our toasts and cake and everything went swimmingly! He played all of our requested songs and picked up on cues from throughout the night and played songs accordingly. 10/10 would recommend!

Our group was having a 125-person event in the Virginia Beach area and I found Astro DJs online. So happy I did! Setting up the event with Danny via email and over the phone was so easy. Their services were very competitively priced. Kurt was our DJ. He contacted me the week of the event and I was able to send him a playlist and some songs that are special to our group.

So easy! Not only was the actual music at the event amazing, but Kurt was a great MC and brought some personality to the dancefloor. He had everyone sing happy birthday as one of our group was turning 21 and even got on the dancefloor and danced with us at one point. He also took requests from our guests. The music was great and Kurt read our minds with what we wanted to hear. Everyone was on the dancefloor until late! 10/10 would recommend Kurt and Astro DJs!

Honestly one of the most professional companies I have ever worked with. From start to finish every person I encountered was friendly and professional. We hired them for our company Christmas party and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone for any occasion and will absolutely use them again!

DJ Rodney Charles with Astro did our wedding last weekend. He was amazing! He played all the right music and our requested tunes. Rodney also coordinated with the staff at Rockafellers to make sure every part of the event, from our first dance to the bouquet toss went seamlessly. The lighting and set up was very professional. His personality was lively while not overbearing, engaging, and friendly; perfect for a wedding.

I recommend him highly if you are searching for the perfect experience. Astro Entertainment made the whole booking process very simple. With all the things we had to deal with leading up to the wedding, this was a last minute oh my goodness we forgot about getting a dj moment and Astro was super accommodating. It was one area where we had absolutely zero stress at all. Such a great company!

Rodney DJ'd my daughter's wedding this past Saturday. He was the best! He took care of every detail from the ceremony to the reception. He was so entertaining and personable. His choice of music pleased every guest. Everyone was on the dance floor! He made it the the best wedding! I highly recommend Rodney!

We used astro entertainment as our wedding DJ and rented their photo-booth. I was very impressed with everything. Our DJ was Danny Gray- and he was great! Super energetic and played to the crowd. Have you ever been to a wedding where everyone starts to get into the music, and the DJ changes the song? That's the worst! Our experience was nothing like that.

We danced all night to excellent music. We made a playlist for cocktail hour and dinner because we're a little picky, but the dance music was all him. He also MCed for us and had guests involved at every opportunity As far as the photo-booth, I only have positive things to say. First of all, it's huge. I think we fit 8-10 people at one time.

I loved the video message after each photo session. When we got the DVD they sent, I honestly laughed so hard I was crying. Of course I also loved the book of photos they gave us that night, but the best part was that everyone in the picture was given a copy (no limit on prints!). I definitely recommend astro entertainment!

I hired Astro for my wedding 05/12/2014- best plan ever. We had Freddie and he was on top of things. I had a family member sing during the wedding ceremony and he made the process so smooth. I have everything wonderful to say about him. During the reception everyone was up and dancing, he got the party started! He also was directly on queue for activities planned- like the speeches, cake, ect.

We hired Astro Entertainment for our wedding and our DJ was Mark. Man talk about entertainment! Mark was awesome playing the right music at the right time getting out on the dance floor with everybody and making our wedding just that much better it was just non stop fun! Mark is by no means a amateur DJ he knows what he's doing! If we ever need another DJ we will most definitely be going back to Astro Entertainment and asking for Mark!

I hired Astro Entertainment once again for DJ, Casino, Lighting and Photobooth and 5 star all the way. Jerritt the DJ was amazing and the attendees loved the trivia games and scavenger hunt and the music kept them dancing and entertained for 4 hours during their holiday party. They assisted me with the raffle prizes and calling out the winners. Greg made sure the lighting and everything was up to my standards, which were and I am very particular and it was perfect.
