Miles from nowhere yet just 15 minutes from downtown Austin, Shady Springs Party Barn is a refreshing retreat unlike any other. Time seems to slow down, and you may feel like you've stepped into Austin's bygone days. We are family-owned and operated: quite literally a local mom n' pop business. Our lush and eclectic venue, situated on 20 acres of privately owned property in southeast Austin, is available to rent for various occasions. We invite you to explore our website to see the possibilities.
Services
Built by Fred and his father, Fred Sr., in 1969, our Junior Olympic size swimming pool is probably our most "famous" feature. There's nothing quite like this vintage cement pond of sparkling clear water. Fred built a custom aeration system to keep it cool even during the hottest days. We also have two small wading pools with a fountain for the kiddos, though adults enjoy them almost as much. Whether you are floating, plunging or dangling your feet into any of our refreshing pools, they are the perfect respite from the Texas summer heat.
Corporate picnics have been the foundation of our business. Our faithful customers have enabled us to expand and diversify our property over the years, and our place is set up to encourage family fun. You may also bring in outside vendors & activities to enhance your party's entertainment experience.
We allow outside caterers and food trucks with advance planning and approval, so please let us know if you'd like to discuss food options for you event. Fred Denson has been smoking brisket for almost four decades. His giant iron smoker (which he made) is a sight to see! We may be local-famous for his smoked brisket, but that's not all we're known for.
2020 marked 40 years of business, and even though we were closed for all of it, it's been really fun to think back on the last 4 decades. It is an honor to be a part of so many memories and celebrations! We are grateful for all of our clients, everyone who has helped us or worked for us, and for each person who loves our special place.

What a wonderful country setting so close to the City. Big beautiful ancient pecan trees on a nice green pasture. Complete with a large barn like dining room and even a large dance floor. I've been to a number of company picnics and volunteer appreciation events. As nice and peaceful as it gets. I'd much rather be under those huge old pecan trees than in a gilded ballroom in a downtown hotel.

I never knew this place was tucked away back here. Kind of makes me wanna relive my childhood so I can have my birthday parties here. I brought a large group of middle school students, 10 full school buses! There was no issue with accommodating all the kiddos or parking for the buses. Shade was everywhere. The kids really had a good time. The bridge to cross for additional parking is a little NARROW for a bus but it's doable
