Stacy Saltzman founded So Stacy in Chicago after living and planning elaborate parties in Los Angeles for six years with celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss. It was within the company of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants that Stacy learned the ins and outs of the event planning business. Working alongside Mindy Weiss is one of the reasons she is such a huge success today.
I adore Stacy! When I decide that I'm too old for the parties she will be the one I ask to do my own events. Most of your event planning begins with the location. So Stacy is based in Chicago, but creates fabulous events across the United States, Mexico and in Europe. We have an endless variety of different, chic, and exceptional locations at your disposal.

An event planner has many roles besides the budget and design of the event. We handle all of the logistics including scheduling and deliveries for your party as well as overseeing and staffing the setup and breakdown of your event. We want you arriving to your party as a guest and enjoying it as a guest - not as the person to handle everything.

Stacy has become more than a wedding planner; she has become part of my family. She has not only planned my wedding, but has planned various other parties and events, including my son's bris this past summer. Stacy is a joy to work with. She is incredibly organized and has done an amazing job of transforming my vision for each event into reality.
She is extremely responsive and I have never found that she does not return calls/emails as a previous reviewer mentioned. I also felt that she was a great advocate for my interests when interviewing, selecting, and negotiating with vendors. In regards to day of services Stacy is a total pro. I was as relaxed on my wedding day as I think anyone could be.
If anything went wrong (which I'm sure things did) I didn't know about it. Stacy and her team took care of everything and my wedding was flawless. I cannot recommend Stacy more highly. She will fulfill all of your expectations and make you consider using a planner for all of your events!

OMG I cannot say enough AMAZING things about So Stacy. She is the cream of the crop. You cannot find a better planner ANYWHERE. From day one, Stacy had the most amazing energy, creativity, and helped bring every one of my dreams come true (even some I didn't know existed)! Stacy was always on call and never failed to call me back, should she not answer immediately.
As she is only the best of best, she only works with the best of the best vendors. Everyone she had recommended was wonderful and the entire process could not have gone smoother. I had a 16 month engagement and Stacy always checked in! I never felt like 'just another client'. She truly makes you feel like you are her ONLY client (which, might I add, you absolutely, 100% are NOT).
Her attention to detail is impeccable; she doesn't miss a beat. She helped me and my family with EVERY detail, many of which I would have never thought of! Day of, Stacy was ON POINT. She had created an agenda that outlined minute by minute of the day of the wedding. Waking up as the bride, you think you'll be stressed, nervous, and anxious, but knowing I had Stacy by my side only left me with feelings of excitement. I'm sure it goes without saying, but the day went FLAWLESSLY.

Best wedding investment! Stacy is EXTREMELY professional, organized, detail-oriented, creative and a wonder person! She really knows what she is doing. She introduced us to amazing vendors and ran everything perfectly the entire weekend. I truly had a dream wedding. I would recommend Stacy to anyone having a wedding or special event. Stacy absolutely made planning my wedding a piece of cake! She was such a pleasure to work with! She truly listened to what my fiance and I wanted and she delivered exactly what we had in mind! Stacy is very knowledgeable and well connected in her field. Stacy found us vendors that are in high demand and vendors that are up and coming. Stacy arranged all the meetings for us, and truly advocated for our needs with the vendors.
The best part about working with Stacy is that she is the full package. Anything we needed, she was there for us! Stacy was always warm and kind, and was patient with us when we needed time to make decisions. My wedding would not be everything that I wanted it to be if it were not for her! I am very lucky to have been able to work with her, and I would recommend her to family and friends!

So after much consideration and the passage of 7 months since my wedding, I have realized that I may have been a little too hard on Stacy. It is true that we had our problems but in the end my wedding was spectacular! I was not happy with Stacy during the months leading up to my wedding but on my actual wedding day she was very professional and made everything a lot easier. She definitely was a pro! Was it worth all the aggravation? I don't know but I did have a beautiful wedding!

I hired Stacy in spring 2013 for a fall 2013 wedding in Chicago. It was not a good experience, and the worst time during the wedding planning process. Similar to the previous posting, I found Stacy very unresponsive and difficult to receive answes from regarding even the simplest of questions. Additionally, she was rude and did not advocate for her client during meetings or vendor consultations. My husband and I ended terminating her contract. I would not recommend her to anybody.
