Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is an extraordinary group of women of all ages and walks of life who gather together to learn the art of singing four-part harmony a cappella. Our chorus is part of Region 21 and we are a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International. We love to entertain and have many musical events each year for the community, our friends, and families.

The chorus's repertoire includes special arrangements of ballads, contemporary music, popular show tunes, and jazz standards. EMSC is pleased to return from our 2019 Region 21 Competition as 2nd Place medalists in Mid-Size Chorus Division AA, and 3rd Place medalists Overall!
Services
Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We have singers of all ages, all walks of life, and all parts of Albuquerque, Santa Fe and greater New Mexico. The main purpose of Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is to get out and sing for our community.
Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Denise brings her vibrant, energetic attitude and nurturing ways to every rehearsal - forever coaching vocal production and barbershop technique. The Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is fortunate to have Denise King as their music director for over 20 years.
Our talented director, Denise King, has been part of the Sweet Adeline world since she was a young child. Her first exposure to barbershop style came through her mother, Frances Mae Opperman, who sang tenor with the Yucca Chapter of Sweet Adelines in Albuquerque. Denise spent many years behind the scenes watching her mother enjoy this great "way of life" just waiting until she could become a member.
Barbershop harmony is a style of unaccompanied vocal music characterized by consonant four-part chords for every melody note in a predominantly homophonic texture. The melody is consistently sung by the lead, with the tenor harmonizing above the melody, the bass singing the lowest harmonizing notes, and the baritone completing the chord.
