Our 7-piece* band features the talents of two amazing female singers backed by a guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, drummer, and saxophonist, all of whom sing as well! The 7 piece line up also offers flute, sax and various percussion including congas. Our unbelievably extensive song list includes everything from big band swing and standards from the '30s and '40s to today's current hits, with oldies, Motown, classic rock, funk, '70s disco/dance, and rock and roll mixed in.We'll play what YOU want to hear! The Heroes are simply the best wedding band I have ever seen. They are supremely talented and energetic performers who actively engage everyone in attendance. I've never been to a wedding where people danced throughout dinner and where half the crowd ended up on the stage singing with the band at some point during the night.
Weddings are The Heroes' specialty and our many years of experience and talents ensure that your reception will be a huge success. Our extensive and varied songlist, as well as our experience playing Christian, Jewish, Asian, and many other specialty and ethnic receptions keeps us very busy! The thing people tell us most often is how much fun they have and how much they dance at parties that we play. We feel that it is our responsibility to create a really great party and we make it happen time and time again!
Since the early 1980s, we have performed for audiences up to 60,000; everything from small events to those costing millions. Regardless of the budget we know how extremely important it is that everything at your event is perfect. There is always a lot at stake and we want those that choose us to come out as the HERO to their clients and co-workers.

I have hired The Heroes three times over the past 20 years. The first event was my daughter's wedding (300 attendees) and the second an annual San Diego civic event with 600 in attendance. The final event was just before Christmas 2018 when I booked them for an annual holiday dinner dance for 60 guests. The attendees raved about the band at each of these events.
In contrast to my experience with prior incidents of the last two events, folks stayed on the dance floor to the very end. The Heroes' repertoire is complete and there is lots of music for everyone's taste. Most importantly, they run the sound through a single mixer and adjust the output to the venue real time. I cannot say enough about how effective this is when you have a crowd 20-somethings to 80 year old grandmas. Tom Boyd is a pleasure to deal with.
He is professional and cares deeply about each event. The band has energy and personality and they strive to make the evening special. I simply cannot recommend The Heroes highly enough.

We were married on September 5, 2015. Our families and friends are still raving about how fantastic The Heroes were! Not only did they energize our reception into an all-night dance party with their amazing musical talents, but they also served as emcees for announcing our first dance, toasts, cake-cutting, etc. Bandleader Tom was such a pleasure to work with, and the band's performance was nothing short of awesome!
They played every genre from golden oldies to modern funk, keeping our guests actively engaged in sing-alongs, air guitar, and a conga line that had everyone on their feet. Our guests, ages 3 to 60+, all had a blast, thanks to The Heroes! If you want to ensure a gold-star event, we highly recommend booking The Heroes!

The Heroes played at my wedding on July 5, 2015. After attending a wedding where they played 2 years ago, they became our biggest priority for our wedding and we booked them immediately. Tom, their manager/drummer, worked with us throughout the year and was just wonderful. He was so professional throughout and very responsive to calls and emails. Our venue was really strict about approving the band/noise ordinances, and Tom really went out of his way to talk with them, meet with them, and assure them they would meet their standards.
After our wedding, the manager of the venue raved about how wonderful they were to work with and said they can play there anytime (mind you, this venue initially said "no" to a new band). The Heroes made our wedding so much fun. They have a HUGE playlist with hundreds of songs from pretty much any genre you can think of, and told us to pick as many songs as we wanted, the more the better (I think we selected around 100).
They were happy to learn a new song for my husband's first dance with his mom. They are incredible musicians and great MC's! They know how to read a crowd and kept the vibe and dance floor going. They even went around and interacted with guests, including pulling some of us on stage with tambourines during Dancing Queen, which everyone loved.
Our guests raved about them all night and I have nothing but wonderful memories from them at our wedding. I highly, highly recommend The Heroes! I know bands are more than DJs, but this was totally worth it, even if you have to move around your budget a little (for example, we did our own flowers and allocated the extra $ to the band and this was WELL worth it!).

The Heroes are the definition of pro musicianship. I handle all the band booking and entertainment at Valley View Casino & Hotel and the Heroes have been in my monthly rotation since day 1. They get a dance floor going every time and have attracted a loyal following. Their song list is huge and can play tunes ranging from the Beatles to Journey to Justin Timberlake.
I book them as a 7 piece band and ALL 7 of them sing! That's a rarity with cover bands nowadays. No gimmicky one trick pony in this band. Tom Boyd, the band leader, is great with communication. I also own a professional DJ biz and have had the pleasure of working with The Heroes at a wedding. I immediately could tell they've done hundreds of weddings before.
They keep the night flowing and on schedule. They bring a lot of energy to the grand entrances. All their announcements sounded professional, lively and anything but monotonous. If you're looking for a high energy dance band to rock your wedding or party I highly recommend booking The Heroes. They are worth it!

I booked The Heroes for my August 2013 wedding and couldn't be happier that I did. The music was my #1 priority for the wedding, as I wanted to be sure we'd have a nonstop party on the dance floor, and The Heroes delivered. Tom was wonderful to work with during the planning process--he let me submit a huge list of songs I wanted to hear (whereas other bands I interviewed said that they let their couples suggest only 10-15).
Everyone has said our band was one of the best they've ever seen--not only are they talented musicians and singers, but they really engaged with the crowd and even brought some of our guests up to sing and dance with them. Thank you all for making our day so incredible!

If you only read short reviews: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WEDDING BAND DEFINITELY GET "THE HEROES"! They are freaking incredible and do an amazing job. I cannot recommend them enough. They absolutely MADE our wedding reception. If you like longer reviews: THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME! We were looking for a wedding band and found The Heroes on the internet.
We were impressed by the accolades and their song list so we went to see them at Valley View Casino. They were incredible. You simply cannot do better than The Heroes for a wedding band. From start to finish Tom Boyd (leader, drummer, all-around awesome human being) helped us ensure our wedding was the best experience for us and our guests. Before the wedding he met with us several times.
He helped us with our timeline, song recommendations and anything else we needed. We waited until a couple of days before the wedding to choose our first dance song. Although they didn't know it, Tom and the band learned it in 1 day and played it flawlessly at our wedding. My wife was so happy! During the wedding THEY ROCKED IT! They "pied pipered" guests from the cocktail hour into the reception room and we were receiving complements about them before they even went on stage.
Once they were on stage. WOAH. They played a "Horah" for the ages! Anytime they were playing people were up dancing. During and after the wedding people kept coming up to us and saying how amazing they were. Everyone wanted to know how we found them and the story behind why we picked them (the short version: Art does an amazing "Baby Got Back"). I have to go now and want to make sure this gets saved before I leave. You will NOT regret choosing the Heroes. They are unbelievably good and are a guaranteed good time.

This band is spectacular. We had them at our wedding 2 years ago, and they were a crucial piece in making our wedding reception such a success. Everyone absolutely loved them, and we got so many compliments about the band the night of, and following, the wedding. They adhered to exactly what we asked for, such as playing music that would engage all generations.
They specifically learned a song for our first dance, and did a fabulous job of it. Most importantly, they kept people on the dance floor all night long! Our wedding went incredibly long and late compared to other weddings, and that is because people didn't want to leave the dance floor. Anyone and everyone, including people who may not normally hit the dance floor!
The Heroes were happy to keep going. Ours was a Jewish wedding, and I told Tom (the bandleader) how the Hora was extremely important to me and I wanted a fun, awesome, long Hora. To this day, people tell me it was the best Hora they have ever seen. Tom also spent time with me prior going over the timeline in detail and did a great job of keeping things running smoothly the day of. I researched other bands before choosing the Heroes, and let me tell you - don't even waste your time. The Heroes are THE band to have at your wedding!
