Once Winnwood surpasses the limited capacity after 5:00 pm, customers will no longer be able to enter the facility. We will also NOT allow a one-in, one-out policy. Chaperones are highly suggested. A "No Chaperone" fee will be charged. Parents, please note that if you do feel the need to drop your children off, you must ensure they make it inside the facility as they could be potentially turned away at the door if the facility is at capacity.
Skaters are welcome to use our included rental skates or bring their own, they just need to be in good working order. We book parties every SATURDAY AND SUNDAY SESSIONS. To view available time slots, click "Book Now" on the party package. Your party guests will be checked in as they enter, chaperones to your guests will pay $5 admission even if they are not skating. If they intend to skate, they will pay regular admission and rental.
Private events are just that - private! Your party will have exclusive use of the facility for two hours. This option can be used for birthday parties, fundraisers, church parties, corporate outings, family reunions or any special occasion. We offer three different options for private events. Private facility rental is intended for individual, non ticketed events.

I'm going to state the facts, then give my opinion. I went on a Friday night. There was a slight smell of marijuana when I entered. There were two police officers inside for security. There was a patrol car outside (not in Winnwood's parking lot, but in the one adjacent). Demographics (approximately): ~85% teenagers ~10% adults ~5% children =10% really good skaters/jam and rhythm skaters =60% intermediate skaters =30% beginners Admission for yesterday was $10 (without skate rental).
They have lockers for an additional cost ($1.75 maybe?), but they also have free cubbies along the wall, on the far side directly across from the entrance under their "Winnwood Skate Center" mural. Here is my (probably unpopular) opinion: Do I feel like it was the safest place to skate? Not really. Now, nothing happened while I was there. There weren't any altercations or drama-- no one caused any trouble.
My shoes were left unattended, and they were still in their exact spot I left them in two hours later. The skaters seemed to be respectful; I didn't notice anyone cut off or roughhouse any other skaters. But. I've also never been to a skating rink that required police officers in attendance. You could argue that it makes Winnwood safer than other rinks that go without security, but.
I don't know. Take it how you will. For a Friday night, it was actually not packed. There was enough room to skate comfortably and scope out who may fall in your path to start skating around them. The small practice skate area was about the size of a small classroom. It's big enough to test out the trucks on your skates to see if you need to loosen them or tighten them, but it's really not big enough to learn how to skate.
I like that Winnwood does adult skate nights for those that would like to avoid the teenage crowd. The music was primarily R&B. Would I go back? Absolutely. But I may choose to go back only in the day time.

I love how open the rink is. There are no "sides" to hold onto in the main skate area, so the rink is much bigger than any I had been to. There is also a beginners section where there are handrails to practice and get the hang of things. I was also pleasantly surprised at how cheap they are. They've got food and arcade games as well, very cool place!

Amazing place to skate at. It has a really nice wood floor, staff are really nice. It has a small beginner skating area in the corner and the skates they had are great. There are a few ups and downs about the place, but they don't really affect me that much. So, I really recommend this place for skating.

This place still slaps even after all these years. I remember the last time I been here was with my middle school friends, and we used to love skating. Going back here brings back so many good memories. Mind you, I am rusty and being back on the skates made me nervous because I'm scared to fall and hurt myself. lol They do have a beginning skating rink in case you don't want to go to the big skating rink or you can use on of those handicap railing to help you. Skating in the smaller rink helped me and my bestie regain our confidence and we were skating again in the big rink.
So much fun to hang out with our adults friends and now our kids get to enjoy skating like we did back then. Prices is very reasonable to skate and to rent the rollerskates or blades. Prices of food and drinks and arcade is so cheap, definitely would recommend this spot for my family and friends.

Me and my friends came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday, now you would think that since it's my friends birthday we could get even remotely decent service from maybe more than one person but no. The older lady at the desk gave us an attitude and kept trying to charge my friend for two people and when he told her he was only paying admission for himself, she rolled her eyes and sighed LOUDLY and kept slamming stuff around.
My friend lost her ticket for her skates, and asked if she could get another one and the lady told her no, and she said "well I paid for it and I need a different one" and she told her that she needed to wait at the desk, while she helped about 5 other customers, and then told her she had to go to a different person to get the tickets. We went to a man to get her her tickets, and she told her what happened, and he said "okay so you went from the desk to here and lost your ticket? How'd you manage that?" In a very sarcastic way.
We went to get our skates, one of my friends received a broken roller blade, she went up to get a new pair, and he told her he couldn't give her another one because "he wasn't allowed" after she paid 10 dollars for a pair of skates. We went to buy food, and my friend ordered a slice of pizza and was told we had to spend more than 10 dollars if we wanted to use a card.
I understand y'all have to make your money but the rudeness was just totally unnecessary. The nicest guy there was the one ref on the skate floor who was very polite and joked around with my friends.

I began skating as a child on a fairly regular basis, and now as an adult, I had always hoped to share that with my family. First, I began by taking my daughter's on "daddy-daughter dates" to the family skate night, which is on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00. Great, family environment, with folks of all ages. We loved it so much that Thursday night became a family affair.
After getting to know the staff (more on them in a moment), we were informed of skating lessons (only 5 dollars!) on Saturday mornings, followed by an open skate, which we have now added to our calendar as well. The lessons are great if you are a rookie or have some skills. The open skate following is perfect to try out what you just learned. Then, we were informed of an adults only session, directly following the family skate night on Thursdays from 8:30-11:30, so we had to check it out. Wow.
All I can say, is Wow! The skill in that room is worth the price of admission alone. Our jaws were on the floor as we watched these people do things on skates that blew our minds! If all of that isn't enough to get you there, let me mention the staff. Customer service is a lost art in 2017. Honestly, just being decent and humane is a lost art in 2017, but that's for another review.
When you bring your family out, you want them to feel safe and invited wherever you go. These people have gone above and beyond to not only extend amazing customer service, but most importantly, kindness. Not just a friendly wave or a hello, but that kind of kindness that hits you right in the heart. Seriously. So, grab your family, your friends, forget about all the worries in the world, strap on four wheels and go in circles, and try not to smile. I dare you.

We ended up there on a Saturday morning because I had some business in the area and needed the family to kill some time while I worked. Luckily they were actually having a skating class for beginners so the kids got the opportunity to learn there. The place was super clean, inexpensive and fun for the whole family.

My friend and I went with the Kansas City Adventure Club Meet-up Group for a night of roller skating. Thursday night is 21 and over and they spin their old school jams from 8:30pm to 11:30pm. It's great to skate to your heart's content and not have to worry about tripping over someone half your size. The people that go there on a regular basis got some hella skate skills.
That was most of the fun, watching everyone else show off. Who knew that so many people were so good at doing disco dance moves and the Bus Stop on skates? If you are willing to stay up late on a school/work night, you will enjoy yourself with some adult roller skating and great music.
